Thank you for taking your time to visit my blog, let me tell you a little about myself and my future plans.

My name is Shane, originally, I am from Albury Wodonga but now I live in Canberra. When I lived out bush, I enjoyed archery and bush walking and now I live in the city, city traffic is something to get used to.

For the last couple of years I was working as a sole trader, nothing to complicated I was just doing simple router, network device and point of sale unit installations. I traveled across NSW Central West and NSW Southeast. I serviced towns such as Parkes, Bathurst, Albury, Wodonga, Batemans Bay, Orange, Cowra, Young, Narooma etc.

I have assisted elderly clients recover their systems after they provided scammers remote access, I have installed so many printers and computing systems. I have made and learned from my mistakes and I believe that I have acquired a strong hands-on experience as an information systems technician. Now I'm in Canberra I have shifted my focus, now I am developing my own web application called Brainyap. My plan is to build an ethically sustainable Australian made social media platform, operated right here in Australia.

Last year, in 2025 I graduated from Charles Sturt University with a masters in cyber security, and I got to enjoy a grandstand seat at Bathurst 1000. Now I am enrolled at the University of Canberra undergoing a masters in engineering (network engineering). The skills that I acquired from my masters in cyber security is helping me develop secure web application’s.

Honestly, I got more work as a sole trader living in the country as compared to the city, but I guess I was the big fish in the small pond. But that is fine, because I am actively seeking full-time employment here in Canberra. It seems to be a tough job market for recent graduates, I was expecting to land a job once I finished my degree but I guess that’s not the case. So, now I am spending my time working on my personal projects, hitting the gym and watching the kangaroos.
