IAS Project

The IAS project is the creation of a network security device that involves attaching LED lights and a buzzer to a Raspberry PI that is configured to monitor network access. If unauthorised access is detected, the IAS will active a red flashing LED light and the buzzer

I started on this project back in 2023 to create a warning device designed to grab the attention of cyber security professionals so they can be instantly alerted of unauthorised access to a remote server. The IAS application will include a whitelist of approved IP addresses, if an IP address is not on the list, this will active the alarm.

I will need to recode the program as I lost the old code. The IAS will function via two programs, one program that acts as an intrusion detection system (IDS) and another program that controls the LED lights and buzzer.

There will be three LED lights, a green light to indicate the device is functional, a yellow light to indicate a trusted network connection and a red light to indicate an untrusted connection.
